Fashion Sakala fuels Rangers exit rumours with cryptic social media post

FASHION SAKALA has fuelled the fire regarding rumours he could be leaving Rangers any time soon.

The 26-year-old has already turned down one exit proposal, believed to be from Saudi Arabia, in order to stay and fight for his Ibrox future.

But he’s now being tested with another offer and with Rangers hopeful of bagging a decent fee for the attacker, the transfer could be pushed through regardless.

Sakala has also fallen down the pecking order since the end of last season, despite the departures of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Antonio Colak.

The arrivals of Abdallah Sima, Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers and Danilo could mean minutes become few and far between for Sakala.

While he’s capable of playing anywhere across the front line, Michael Beale‘s summer signings would suggest Sakala isn’t viewed as a starter in any position.

Last night on Instagram, Sakala posted a picture of himself waving.

Supporters have speculated on what the cryptic post could mean.

One observed: “A random picture of him last season waving, could it be a sign he’s off?”

“Is he saying goodbye?” remarked another.

A couple suggested they’d be happy to take the money and run for the forward, mentioning two infamous misses in front of goal against Celtic, in the League Cup final and Scottish Cup semi-final.

“Will never forgive him for those two misses at Hampden,” said one.

While this fan added: “Misses in the cup final and semi-final are two major detractors that’ll take away from how he’ll be remembered but he was never signed to be a difference maker and others downing tools meant we were forced to rely heavily on him.

“Not the required level but played for the badge.”

However there were some who either had sympathy for the player, or wanted him to stay.

One said: “I feel sorry for Fashion, he obviously loves it here and unlike others he does make a contribution and give it his all. On the other hand, we got him on a free and if the fees reported are accurate, we can’t knock that back and he should be encouraged to leave.”

A second supporter spoke positively about the Zambian, but wanted clarity on the fee before making their mind up. They wrote: “I think he definitely adds something different with his pace and directness. Can be really rash sometimes though. What’s the reported fee? Four million?”

In a similar vein, this fan wrote: “If Fashion Sakala is away he goes with my best wishes. If others hadn’t give up the jersey he wouldn’t have been relied up in the big games. He gave his all, never hid, never gave less than 100%. He plays football, like he lives his life, with a smile on his face.”

A further comment read: “Don’t want him to go. Always gives 100%. Sure he’ll miss loads, but he’ll also score some important goals & if he goes we lose a lot of pace from the team. There’s far more should be going in front of him. Love the wee man.”
