Fashion Sakala Rangers transfer exit to Saudi revived as Boyd has his say

Fashion Sakala could still leave Rangers for Saudi despite rejecting an initial offer.

Pro League side Al-Fayha launched a bid for the Zambian forward last week but he turned down the pay day in order to stay at Ibrox and fight for a place in the team. However, he was left out of the Hoffenheim friendly leaving his future still looking unclear – although Michael Beale claimed there was no update on that front.

But Al-Fayha seem determined to land their man and the Daily Mail reports that they have returned with another £3million bid. It’s claimed that the Light Blues have told the 26-year-old he is free to leave as they attempt to bring in some money after spending £13m on a new-look frontline.

Beale’s comments at the weekend were: “There’s nothing on Fashion at the moment. There’s a bit of noise around a few of the players and that’s natural because of how many we’ve brought in. As soon as there’s something to say on that we will.”

But former Gers striker Kris Boyd does not want to see his old club let Sakala go because of how useful he can be on his day.

He said: “Sakala is an interesting one. I’ve been vocal when he was playing as a No 9 that he wasn’t an out-and-out striker. But I’d be reluctant to let him go or sell him.

“I get Rangers have brought in a lot of forwards and might be looking to get money in, but he brings something different. A lot of the time he doesn’t know what he’s going to do, so there’s no way defenders will know. His pace terrorises defenders.”
