Sam Lammers Rangers transfer exit latest as two clubs have their say on pursuit



FC Twente have broken their silence on their reported interest in Rangers man Sam Lammers.

The Dutch forward is expected to leave Ibrox on a permanent deal this summer after spending half a season on loan in his homeland at Utrecht. His sparkling form there was a far cry from what he produced in Glasgow and raised the question of whether Philippe Clement could look to give him another chance.

But reports emerged that Gers had made the decision to offload the 27-year-old and that came as the Eredivisie side were keen on making his stay permanent. But in recent days divisional rivals Twente were named as another club keen to sign Lammers.

Their technical director, Arnold Bruggink, has had his say on those claims. He said: “We also have a very good striker at FC Twente. So, it is not that we need someone there immediately.

“By the end of the European Championship we will things will get going as usual. We are not panicking.”

Utrecht have been more direct on their own interest and admitted on multiple occasion they’re looking to make a transfer happen. And their own technical director, Jordy Zuidam, has spoken on the situation once again.

He said: “He is a very important link in our team, so we want to go far for him. It is above our ceiling, but we are now looking for a solution.”
