Patna Municipal Corporation to give more emphasis on infrastructure development | Patna News – Times of India

PATNA: The empowered committee members of the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Saturday have given its nod to present a budget of Rs 2,250 crore for the fiscal year 2023-24, giving a push to improve infrastructure.
The decision has been taken during the pre-budget meet here at its headquarter under the chairmanship of Patna mayor Sita Sahu.
The members took the decision that the budget will give more emphasis on infrastructural development of southern and eastern parts of Patna, take measures to control air pollution and beautification of the city, providing free Wi-Fi accessibility to citizens and increase the coverage of CCTV cameras in the municipal areas. Most of the agendas in the budget were promised by the mayor during the civic polls elections.
After the pre-budget meeting, Sahu told the mediapersons that the newly developed areas in Patliputra circle (ward 6, 31, 32, 44) and Kankerbagh circle (western-side) will get the basic infrastructure like drainage and sewerage network, water pipelines, street lights and development of parks among other facilities.
“About Rs 1,000 crore will be kept for infrastructural development of the city, which we will get under the 6th finance commission of the state,” she said. The mayor said under the infrastructure development, the PMC will get its own office at New Capital Circle office premises at Road Number 1, by utilising the funds to the tune of ₹20 crore.
