McGill’s taps Omnibus cloud tech for East Scotland efficiency boost

McGill’s Bus Group is extending its existing partnership with EPM Group by bringing Omnibus cloud technology on board to streamline scheduling for its newly acquired Scotland East division. The integration was completed in just one week.

The choice to embrace Omnibus was made after McGill’s evaluated several cloud solutions available in the market. The firm deduced that Omnibus’s offering was user-friendly and also met operational requirements at pace, enabling the quick production of different scenarios.

Colin Napier, Group Operations Director at McGill’s, says: “We need systems which support our aims for growth and profitability. Our extensive assessment firmly concluded the Omnibus cloud scheduling solution provided the most efficient answers first time with impressive speeds and flexibility that could not be matched.

“Omnibus has a deep understanding of the UK bus market and is a trusted software solutions supplier to McGill’s. Omnibus has worked closely with senior management in bringing the very latest technology to provide operational efficiencies. We look forward to developing our partnership further with the Omnibus team.”

Adds Omnibus founder Peter Crichton: “We are delighted McGill’s selected the Omnibus suite of planning and scheduling solutions and look forward to supporting the McGill’s Scotland East operation. Users at the former operation are experienced users of Omnibus which will make their transition seamless.”

Covering four depots – Larbert, Bannockburn, Balfron, and Livingston – the McGill’s Scotland East bus operation serves the regions of Stirling, Falkirk, West Lothian, and Edinburgh.
