Five things to do in Scotland this week, from comedy to the world’s greatest explorer

You will need a heart of chromium not to feel emotional in the presence of the Edinburgh-based artist Mella Shaw’s new sculptural and film installation. Inspired by the devastating effect of marine sonar on whales and other cetaceans, Sounding Line, which has just won the British Ceramics Biennial award, is dominated by large-scale shapes made from a clay that incorporates ground-down bones from beached whales. It’s part of Form, a season of exhibitions by contemporary female sculptors, and other highlights include Camila Ospina Gaitán’s An Uncanny Feeling That She Was Being Watched, and Yumiko Ono delving into the concept of utopia.
