John Swinney unveiled the SNP’s latest billboard campaign in Leith

The general election campaign is in full swing and we’ve reached the halfway point.

Today Scotland’s politicians have been out campaigning – while ensuring they stick close to Holyrood for FMQs.

This morning, first minister and SNP leader John Swinney unveiled an electronic billboard in Edinburgh. It featured a pictue of the FM alongside the words: “Leading for Scotland, not led by Westminster”.

Also in the capital, Scottish Greens co-leader Lorna Slater was campaigning before the launch of the party’s manifesto next week.

Liberal Democrat Christine Jardine visited a community windfarm in East Lothian to argue that energy giants should invest in community funds.

Then after FMQs, Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar will also be out campaigning in East Lothian.

Scottish Conservative deputy leader Megan Gallacher will visit a nursery in North Lanarkshire to discuss “fair funding” for early years programmes.
