MacIntyre is one of four rookies who will be making their Ryder Cup debuts for Europe this week.

Led by Luke Donald, the Europeans will be looking to wrestle back the prize after a thumping defeat to the USA in 2021.

The USA won 19-9 at Whistling Straits two years ago and head to the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Italy as defending champions.

Some stunning form saw MacIntyre secure an automatic spot on Team Europe.

He sealed a spot via the European Points List to guarantee his place alongside the likes of Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Tommy Fleetwood.

A two-time winner on the European Tour, Oban-born MacIntyre becomes the first Scot to play in the Ryder Cup since Stephen Gallacher all the way back in 2014.

And he’s showing no signs of any pre-event nerves as he took to social media with a post that left fans delighted and amused in equal measure.

Posting a selfie from his hotel room while brushing his teeth, MacIntyre captioned the image: “Night night 😴🤣”

And he could be seen wearing some rather spectacular Ryder Cup pyjamas!

Nailing his colours to the mast ahead of his first appearance, the striking PJs carry the famous blue colour of Team Europe – as well as the ‘Europe’ logo dotted all over!

One fan labelled MacIntyre a “fashion icon.”

Another said: “Brilliant Bob! 🤣”

A third added: “Braw pair o’ jammies! 🤣”

Another commented: “Simply brilliant. So glad you are flying the flag for Scotland and Europe this week.”

A fifth said: “Wowser Bob, those are cracking pyjamas!”

MacIntyre will be no doubt hoping to be involved when the foursome matches kick things off just north of Rome on Friday morning.

They’ll get underway with the first match at 6.35am UK time.
